Cotton Carrier Ltd. prides itself in the choice of top grade materials and the highest quality of manufacturing on all of our products. This limited warranty covers you for lifetime against any defects in material or workmanship, as long as you are the original purchaser of a Cotton Carrier System, which includes the Cotton Carrier Camera System (vest system) and Cotton Carry-Lite (belt system). All other Cotton Carrier products carry a one (1) year warranty.

All warranty claimants must provide evidence of purchase and still own their Cotton Carrier product. This limited warranty does not cover you damage caused by improper use, alteration, or accidental damage. It also does not cover the natural breakdown of materials that occur after prolonged use such as fabric wear, abrasion, etc. All products subjected to regular and active use eventually wear out, even a Cotton Carrier!

This limited warranty excludes all claims to any incidental or consequential loss to personal property, including photographic equipment. Part of this limited warranty requires your frequent inspection to ensure your Camera Hub is sufficiently tight, all belts and buckles are secure, and you are using your Camera Tethers.

Should you require making a claim of this warranty, you will contact us via our email address of info@cottoncarrier.com and provide a detailed explanation of your claim, ideally providing photos of the issue. Upon review of your situation, you will be provided an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number, with detailed instructions on how to proceed with your claim. There is a Shipping & Handling charge of $25 USD for all warranty claims. Upon receiving the product at our offices, we will inspect the product for the warranty issue, and upon confirming defect, will either repair or replace your Cotton Carrier product at our discretion. The Cotton Carrier is designed to hold digital SLRs of any size and lens configuration. There are two sets of hard anodized Camera Hubs that are available with your Cotton Carrier; two (2) regular (flat) and two (2) 15-degree angled hubs. The regular hubs are designed for typical, non-professional, non-battery gripped cameras. The 15-degree angled hub is designed specifically for use with professional series (full bodied) and battery-gripped cameras. This hub ensures the additional offset created by the extended distance of the camera due to the battery grip is angled slightly to reduce stress placed on the tripod mount of your camera. A properly fitted Cotton Carrier using the 15-degree offset will have the camera lens lightly, and comfortably, resting against your abdomen. Other notable restrictions for the different Cotton Carrier models include:

The Side Holster, which can be kept on your Cotton Carrier or mounted on the waist strap of your camera bag or used on your pant belt, is best used with non-battery gripped cameras and shorter lenses (e.g. 24 – 70mm, 135mm). Due to dynamics of walking, the hip tends to cause mild swinging even when walking, which is why we recommend smaller camera and lens combinations for this unit.

The Vest Harness is designed for both professional series and battery gripped cameras, as well as non-battery gripped cameras with longer lenses, PROVIDING you use the appropriate Camera Hub as detailed above. Due to the human torso staying relatively stable when walking, longer lenses are easily, and comfortably carried with the benefit of eliminating neck and shoulder strain caused by traditional neck straps.

Although the Cotton Carrier is designed to carry weight loads of essentially any camera and lens combination, providing you use the right camera hub, we still strongly recommend using your camera neck strap as an extra measure of security whenever using your camera under active situations (e.g. mountain bike riding, skiing, hiking).

Everyone, from someone buying their first camera to a seasoned pro, all will appreciate, and integrate the Cotton Carrier as an essential “must-have” part of their gear. Wedding photographers love the fact that they can finally carry two manageably, portrait photographers appreciate that they can adjust lights, or talk to their subject without putting their camera down, nature photographers for the ability to hike through the forest without worrying about their camera swinging and smashing into objects. The Cotton Carrier uses LexanTM for the camera receptacle, which is a lightweight, low-friction and high-impact plastic that is the same material used on the windshields of jet airplanes. The Camera Hub is made of hard anodized aluminum with a marine-grade, stainless steel insert that securely threads into your camera’s tripod mount. The vest harness uses durable 1650 Denier material, with adjustable sizing webbing straps and heavy-duty nylon buckles.

Yes, because the vest harness covers a relatively small surface area, it has been found to be exceptionally comfortable in most conditions. We are confident you will find it infinitely more comfortable than any neck strap you may have tried, no matter how well padded, or the material used. A neck strap focuses all of the camera’s weight to your neck area, leaving you sore and irritated. The Cotton Carrier however, evenly distributes that same weight throughout your shoulders and back, so the weight of the camera is relatively unnoticeable.

Yes, simply hand wash with regular laundry detergent and hang to dry. The woven 1650 Denier material will dry quite quickly. NEVER machine wash or dry!

Yes. Unlike some other inferior camera carrying systems that require you purchase the correct product for certain cameras, the Cotton Carrier Camera System is designed around the 1/4" standard tripod mount thread size that the majority of SLR, Point & Shoot, and Camcorders use. This ensures your Cotton Carrier will work with most, if not all camera and lens combinations and not become obsolete once you upgrade or acquire new cameras.

The Cotton Carrier has been branded the Cotton Carrier Camera System for a good reason. Not only do you get the vest that securely and comfortably supports one camera, but you also get a removable Velcro Side Holster for your second camera. This item may also be attached to your waist belt. We felt by marketing the Cotton Carrier this way you are actually getting two products for the price of one.

With our new Adapter Plates, we now offer direct compatibility with the Arca Swiss-compatible, Manfrotto, Gitzo and other brands of quick release tripod systems with our Universal Adapter Plate (model #766NHP). Alternately, if you use an Arca Swiss style L-bracket, you may find our Slim Quick Release Clamp more convenient (model #733QRS). Or you can contact your tripod's manufacturer for their adapter clamp options. The Cotton Carrier Camera Hub will mount onto any quick release adapter or clamp that has a 1/4" threaded hole on the underside. Some products require (or include) a 1/4" to 3/8" threading bushing.

*If you already own a Really Right Stuff quick release clamp such as the B2-40 LR or B2-mAS which has a non-threaded hole, you will need to order our Really Right Stuff (RRS) Adapter Kit.

IMPORTANT: Along with using an Allen Key and screw driver to secure your RRS Quick Release Clamp to the Cotton Carrier Hub, we strongly recommend you use a thread locker, such as LocTite 425 ONLY, as this is a fast curing, low strength adhesive for locking metal and plastics fasteners. If you have any spillage, it is advised to use an Acetone cleaner for any excess.

Although it should not be required with sufficient tightening of the camera hub that causes compression of the rubber washer, you may wish to use an added measure of security to keeping your camera hub on by using a NON-PERMANENT, PLASTIC SAFE Thread Locker (e.g. LocTite 425).

Other LocTite or similar products may not be suitable for use, and are not recommended.

NOTE FOR VIDEO HEAD USERS*: You will ALSO need our 733QRS Quick Release Clamp (with spacer) to use with your tripod. We have determined that this is the best solution to allow you fast mounting to your tripod and to avoid having their long quick release plate mounted to our plate at a perpendicular angle (T-shape). In effect, you will then be able to leave your original video tripod plate (with our clamp attached) in place all the time and simply use our Universal Quick Release Plate to go back and forth to your Cotton Carrier. You'll appreciate the convenience and less bulk. If you wish to confirm compatibility before purchase, don't hesitate to email us your exact tripod model or drop us a line at 1-877-852-9423.

The Cotton Carrier Camera System involves moving parts that must be maintained periodically. Install and, using the included Allen Key, tighten the Adapter Plate as TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE, as this is what keeps your camera securely attached to your Cotton Carrier. Check it until you are satisfied it is not loosening through the turning action of the camera.

As well as confirming the condition of both the Adapter Plate and Camera Receptacle for any signs of wear or damage, keep both the Lexan Camera Receptacle and Adapter Plate clean and free of any grit and debris, and clean it regularly as you would with any camera component.

In general, we find that black is the most commonly inconspicuous, and camera friendly color on the market. We think our target market of amateur, semi-pros and professionals all agree.

That said, we have introduced a Forest Green version of our Camera Vest System for All Camera Types and Camera Vest for All Camera Types.

The Cotton Carrier was designed to be a “one-size-fits-all” design. Both the height of the chest receptacle harness can be adjusted and the fit across your chest can be easily, and comfortably adjusted. The chest circumference width can be adjusted to fit a range from 28" to 70".
