CCS SteadyShot with G3 Harness

Camera Harness with Mount

Whether you're out to shoot birds and wildlife or make the next great movie, the CCS SteadyShot system is beautifully engineered to assist. The rock-solid shooting platform is made from anodized, machined 6061 aluminum with all stainless steel fittings. The CCS SteadyShot can handle the weight and is built to last.

If you already own a CCS Camera Harness go to this page.

This is the perfect accessory to the CCS Camera Harness. The SteadyShot easily slides into the Lexan camera mount built-in to the harness. It is designed to support your camera with a big lens or a DSLR set up for video shooting. The mounting plate on the SteadyShot is pre-drilled and ready to accept any manufacturer’s quick release plate. Video shooters can add a video-fluid-head to help provide an amazingly stable platform for comfortable shooting.

The CCS SteadyShot system provides support for your camera and lens set-up DURING shooting.

CCS Camera SteadyShot with Harness system includes:

- CCS SteadyShot camera mount

- CCS Camera harness

Important Notes

Cotton Camera Carrying Systems involve moving parts that must be maintained periodically.

INSTALL THE CAMERA ON THE STEADYSHOT MOUNTING PLATE – use the included tightening tool (Allen Key), tighten the camera mounting bolt as TIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE. Adequate tightening is what keeps your camera securely attached to the mounting plate. Check it until you are satisfied it is snugged down enough.

Frequently check the tightness of the mounting bolt so camera maintains a stable connection to the plate.

Tripod Compatibility

The CCS SteadyShot comes with our patented Universal Tripod Adapter plate. This plate is compatible with most tripod heads on the market. It is cut to fit directly into any Arca-Swiss style head. Designed with enough adjustment holes to slide back and forth on the bottom of your camera to leave the battery door accessible.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the tripod or quick release?

The hardware has a tripod holed milled into it for tripod use. If you use quick release we recommend the Universal Tripod Adapter Plate or Universal Arca Swiss L-Bracket.

    Women's sizing

The harness system is one size fits all with 6 points of adjustment. We get lots of positive feedback from woman photographers.

Sizing for larger or smaller individuals

The systems are one size fits all, spanning 26" to 57" inch waist measurements.

    Return Policy

3 week no questions asked returns and 3 year technical warranty.

Does the system work for large telephotos like a 600mm?

The carrier will not fail under the weight of your camera/lens setup. A 600mm will place your weight forward and for some, it becomes a bit awkward. The system will not fail, but it becomes a subjective matter of comfort.

Can I add another camera or binocular holster after?

Yes, we offer a modular side holster with camera or binocular hardware. Or the individual hardware for camera or binoculars can be purchased independently.

Can I put my camera into the binocular carrier's receiver? Or vice versa?

All hardware uses the same twist and lock system, so you can place your camera or binoculars interchangeably in any receiver.

    Good, but not great

Please see my review of the G3 Harness that I used with the SteadyShot. As I mentioned, this was used to provide stability under poor lighting with a Nikon Z9, FTZII, and various short lenses (up to a 105 2.8 macro). I also wanted to use it with longer footed lenses; all of my bodies in service and footed lenses have Arca-Swiss compatible plates (bodies use 1/2 of the Cotton L-plate plus a Cotton hub, lenses have a Cotton hub at the front of the AS plate). I experimented, replaced the AS plate supplied with the SS with a longer AS plate that had the conventional stops at each each end, added a 50mm DPLEX-50 Twin / Double Duplex Clamp Set Subtend / Bidirectional Arca Compatible ASIN DAC-01 ASIN B010GK55YY to hold my Sirui K20-X ball head (modified with a Wimberley C-12 clamp and a head quick release plate to go into the top clamp of the duplex clamp). The duplex clamp allows me to slide the ball head along the plate of the SteadyShot allowing me to both position the center of gravity of the body/lens lens foot and the position of the viewfinder/body separately. However, despite images showing something similar (with the duplex clamp) on the Cotton web site, I find that the harness sags forward, particularly with a lens as long as Sigma 60-600 Sport fully extended. The harness definitely needs the added shoulder pads I mention in my G3 harness review. The SteadyShot is easier to hike with than carrying a tripod or monopod, and faster to get on-subject, but still awkward.
